¶ MDH USB Connection Failure with Mega
Applicable to MDH v1.3.x and newer releases
¶ 1 Phenomenon Description
After updating MDH software to v1.3.x, users may encounter USB connection failures when attempting to link with Mega devices. The interface displays the error:
"Unable to connect to Mega device" despite proper USB cabling.
¶ 2 Troubleshooting Solutions
¶ 2.1 Temporarily Disable Windows Firewall
- Open Windows Security → Firewall & Network Protection
- Toggle off firewall for both "Domain" and "Private" networks
- Retry MDH-Mega USB connection
¶ 2.2 Hardware Verification via LightBurn
If firewall disablement fails:
- Connect Mega using LightBurn (LB) software
- Confirm successful COM port detection
- Success: Hardware functional → Proceed to network configuration
- Failure: Physical connection issue suspected
